I  carry out Existing Home energy assessments across central Victoria -  from Bendigo to Ballarat, Kyneton to Maryborough. I can carry out NatHERS energy ratings for new builds anywhere in Victoria, but my focus is on regional and rural projects.

Energy assessing is about heating and cooling loads,  megajoules and R values, star ratings and software programs. But people design, build and live in homes.  A collaborative approach ensures clients' needs, preferences and experiences are brought to each project - every home assessment is unique.

Australian homes need to be able to perform in the changing climate, now and well into the future. The introduction of higher building standards in 2024 aimed to help homes to adapt.  But I can also assess designs using future climate scenarios, to aim for greater resilience.

Accredited assessors have achieved a recognised level of professional competence, abide by a code of practice and  have their work audited for quality. Continuing professional development (CPD) activities update skills and knowledge. Accredited assessors also have professional indemnity insurance.

Residential housing accounts for around 30% of our greenhouse gas emissions. Designing, building and retrofitting houses to be more energy efficient will reduce both emissions and the cost to run them - whether it's from fossil fuels or renewables.
